How we can help
Our approach is not “one-size-fits-all”. We consider your medical and stress history, your family history, diet, digestive function, lifestyle (including sleep, exercise and relaxation) and much more. We may also test you for biochemical, hormonal, nutritional or microbial imbalances.
We are happy to work with you should you be suffering from mild stress or anxiety through to medicated long-term depression, as all treatment plans are designed specifically for you. We are also happy to work with your doctor, psychologist or other health professional to ensure you receive the best level of care.
From a purely physical aspect, it is imperative that your body has the sufficient nutrients it needs for optimal nervous system function. Furthermore, we need to ensure that your mood is not being negatively impacted by your diet, environment, hormones or lifestyle.
We look for the cause of your anxiety or depression, we do not merely treat your symptoms. Therefore, we may need to investigate further to see if you have any genetic susceptibilities, hormone imbalances, food intolerances, bacterial overgrowth, thyroid dysfunction or adrenal issues.
Treatment can involve supplementation, herbal medicines, dietary changes, and lifestyle and exercise recommendations.
It is important to ensure that you have the emotional and mental support and tools that you need to cope “day-to-day” and to heal at a deep level. Depending on your level of need, this may consist of mindful meditation, regular “catch ups” with a supportive friend or seeing a psychologist, psychotherapist, counselor or other mind-focused practitioner.
Our Functional Medicine Practitioner, Jasmin Polley has been practicing since 2003 and is passionate about discovering the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression, not just merely treating the symptoms. Jasmin really listens to you and will assess your treatment needs, after considering all aspects of your health.
